The lamassu has five legs. When looking from front seems it to be standing straight. When seen from the side, it seems to be walking. The statue was more than likely built to gaurd a diety which is a goddess or women of high value.
Palace of Sargon II
Located in Khorsabad, Iraq, the Palace of Sargon is a city platform 50ft high; made of mud-brick. The palace contains a ziggurat and has over 200 rooms, 30 courtyards and 25 acres. High exterior walls protected thy city from attack.
